Mannequin Hairstyles

One thing I've noticed is, that often not enough attention is given to the hairstyles of a mannequin display. When you're promoting fashion items - clothes, jewelry, accessories - you want the people looking at the displays to identify with it.

Hair is such a prominent feature on people and so much attention is paid to it, that you need to make sure its in keeping with the image and product being promoted.  You can keep track of recent hair styles in the articles at http://www.stylebistro.com

Some semi-Amish style

I'm not sure if the Amish would approve of the style, but these are some nice photos.  Anyway, see what you think at http://www.everythingstyle.com

The style looks like it should be on a mannequin in a shop-front, & from the clothes I see being promoted elsewhere on the internet and in magazines, I can see it appealing to a proportion of the market. There's a bit written about targeting demographics on the female mannequin page of Mannequins R Us.

But let me know what you think about the outfit  @  http://www.everythingstyle.com And comment below ( let me know you're alive ).

Selling and Marketing

Marketing is very much about creating a want for something. You can do your market research and see if there is an incipient want, or a need that you can cultivate. You'll also find a lot of people searching for solutions on the net to specific problems.  But once you have found an area where enough people are in need of a particular thing, your next step as a marketer is to create a want for your solution & product.

This of course applies to shop displays and mannequins too. People need warm clothes in winter as a solution to being cold. Now a marketer needs to create a want for the clothes that are going to be sold.  After that you can advertise where they can get it and make sure you catch their attention.

Lady Gaga - Style

Lady Gaga has some great marketers that are quite incredible. They make full use of the latest social media, and she's on Twitter to her fans before concerts, lets them upload videos of her concerts onto Youtube, uses Facebook and is capturing attention from everywhere.

Fashion is often set by celebrities, and although a lot of the clothes Lady Gaga wears will not make it into the mainstream, she's still influencing style and trends. Success and income is directly proportional to the amount of attention you can get.

Damaged Denim

A fancy way of saying 2nd-hand I guess.  The jeans in the post at http://hypebeast.com are REALLY dirty. They'd look good in a shop display of possibly street fighting. I don't think I could bring myself to wear them though.

From the aspect of selling to a particular niche of people, they'd likely help catch attention if worn on the right mannequins.

Attention & Income

Income is proportional to the amount of attention you can get, so creating a demand for something has a lot to do getting the exposure and resulting in sales. I read about the Kardashian sisters are bringing out a 2nd range of clothes and thought it was a really good example of celebrities setting fashion and style trends. It also shows the amount of effort it takes to get exposure for a product, which is so often under-estimated.
It's best to think big  ( and be outrageous if possible ) to catch attention. There's more written about this applying to displays on the display mannequins page of mannequinsRus.
